Keyboard navigation flow - administrator example

Here is an example of how to specify one time price of an already existing offer using just the keyboard. For this, you need to:

  • locate the offer in the offer list

  • open the offer in the details tab and switch the tab to the edit mode

  • locate and expand the Prices section

  • activate the One time price attribute and specify the price

  • update the offer

Starting point: a freshly opened Shop for the administrator.

  1. Press Tab until you move focus to the sidebar, then use the down arrow key to move focus to the Offers icon and press Enter. The Offers list opens in the overview tab.

  2. Press Tab until focus moves to the first offer in the list, then use down/up arrow keys to navigate to the offer you need to modify.

You can use left/right arrow keys to move focus between individual offer attributes displayed in the list. This can be useful if screen reader is also used as an accessibility tool.

You could also use Tab to navigate only to the Search field at the top of the offer list and search the offer instead of browsing for it using the down/up arrow keys.

  3. Press Enter to open the offer in the detail tab, then press Tab until focus moves to the Edit offer button in the detail tab. Press Enter to switch to the edit mode.

  4. Press Tab until focus moves to the Prices section, then press Enter to expand the section.

  5. Press Tab to move focus to the One time price switch and press Enter to flip the switch to Yes.

  6. Press Tab again to move focus to the One time price attribute and type a price value.

  7. Press Tab until focus moves to the Update offer button and press Enter. The edit is saved and the detail tab switches back to the read mode. Congratulations - you have just modified the offer using only the keyboard.
